Students at CCCHS are required to take 1 semester of Health education during 9th grade, and 1 year of Physical Education during 10th grade. Students can also
choose to take Family Health, Advanced Physical Education or Weight Training as electives in their Junior and Senior years.
Sophomores learn CPR in Physical Education class. They take the American Heart Association CPR in the Schools Program,
and can get certified in Adult CPR, Child CPR and Foreign Body Airway Obstruction.

Health
Grade Level: 9 - Required
The development of the total person is emphasized by studying the mental, physical, and social aspects in the individual's life.
Family Health
Grade Level: 11,12 - Elective
This course is a study of related aspects of health in family living with special emphasis being given to the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of child development. Also included are instruction in parenting and the development of effective communication skills and techniques in solving family problems.
Introductory Physical Education
Grade Level: Grade 10 - Required
A state required course to fulfill the .5 credit graduation requirement of Ohio. Before any other physical education course can be taken this required class is mandatory. Participation in the areas of recreational fitness, individual, and team activities are included in this course of study. In order to pass the course a student must be an active participant.
Advanced Physical Education
Grade Level: 11, 12 - Elective
Advanced Physical Education requires class participation. Students will build on basic skills learned through the Introductory Physical Education course of studies. Included within the advanced physical education class are cognitive areas of strategy planning, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Activities include both team and individual sports and weight training and conditioning to enhance the physical skills learned at the sophomore level
Weight Training
Grade Level: Grade 11, 12 - Elective
This course is broken down with 3 days of weight training and 2 days of aerobic exercise (sprint work and plyometrics) to improve a student's strength, quickness, and flexibility. Class size is prohibitive and at the discretion of the Physical Education instructor.

A program of studies is a sequence of classes that a student will usually take while at Cleveland Central Catholic High School.
