A letter from the president:
August, 2007
Dear Students, Parents, Alumni, Friends and Future Ironmen:
We are vibrant in the city---Serving God, church and community---a school where every student must excel!
Greetings from Slavic Village, one of Cleveland’s great neighborhoods and the home of Cleveland Central Catholic High School! We are just five minutes from downtown Cleveland and accessible from all parts of the Greater Cleveland area.
We are a Catholic, comprehensive coeducational high school with an enrollment of 500 students---just the right size! Our history goes back to the 1880s, when the first of four parish schools began that later merged to form Cleveland Central Catholic in 1969.
We have just completed a major facilities renovation that dramatically improved our campus: we have a new 25,000 square foot addition with seven new classrooms, a state-of-the-art universal science lab, a beautiful new chapel, a fantastic gym, meeting spaces, a bookstore and much more!
Additionally, we have partnered with the City of Cleveland and will break ground in August to create a 1,500 seat stadium with an artificial turf field surface and an eight lane synthetic track. It will be ready for the Ironman sports teams starting with the spring of 2008. We are so grateful to all those who have helped us to achieve our dreams of an expanded campus that is second to none! Come and see how we are building our campus!
But we don’t just want a great campus----we fill it with great students of all academic and economic ranges, students who want to further their own talents by working with a great faculty and staff and learning with classmates from across our diverse city. Our academic program is truly for all students, whether they are ready for an honors program or a special education program---and everyone in between.
Even more important than academics is our faith formation program that begins with religion classes for all students to challenge them to put their faith into action and live the Gospel message. Students make retreats led by peers and faculty and also share the Eucharist in the Shrine Church of St. Stanislaus, located right on our campus.
After school, we offer a wide variety of clubs, sports and activities, everything from service opportunities to our yearbook and newspaper and practices and games for all sports. You will be sure to find an activity that you enjoy and the activities are great ways to make new friends.
And after graduation, we welcome our alumni and friends from the community to a wide range of educational, social service, religious and fun programs.
Come and be a part of the future of our city, the future of Cleveland Central Catholic High School We look forward to meeting you and showing you how we are vibrant in the city!
GO IRONMEN!
