Updated: Tuesday, April 21, 2020

Good Afternoon Cleveland Central Catholic Families,

Yesterday, Governor DeWine announced the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year will be completed through online distance learning.  Ohio joins many other states where faculty, staff and students will not return to the physical school building this year.  We know these measures unite all of us in doing our part to “flatten the curve” and slow the spread of COVID-19.

We are saddened that we will not be able to complete the school year in person.  We miss each of our students and all of the end-of-year milestones we are not able to celebrate together.  These are challenging times and we acknowledge that there are many feelings and thoughts about our present reality.  Cleveland Central Catholic High School remains committed to serving the emotional, academic, and spiritual needs of our school community.

Below you will find important information regarding the rest of the school year and end-of-year activities.  We will continue to communicate as this journey unfolds.

April 21, 2020 Family Communication Update

Updated: Monday, April 20, 2020

Today, Governor DeWine announced the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year will be completed through online distance learning. Ohio joins many other states where faculty, staff and students will not return to the physical school building this year.

In light of this development we want to share with you the new dates for Prom and Commencement.  While we do not know when, and if the social distancing orders will be lifted— we want you to mark your calendars for the following dates in the event we can gather to celebrate end of year events.

  • There are no after-school activities on Monday. The school building will close at 4pm to begin cleaning and sanitizing.

Tuesday, March 17th – Sunday, April 5th: Cleveland Central Catholic will provide online learning.

  • All on-campus activities are cancelled. This includes volunteering, cleaning crew, athletic practices, and any other school activity.  Students may not be on campus.
  • Online learning will begin. Students should check their emails and log into Google Classroom each day we are out of school.  Teachers will be available via email to offer assistance.

We know these are uncertain times and many families are experiencing disruptions in their day-to-day routine.  Please continue to check our website www.centralcatholichs.org  for future updates. In addition, we will continue to send text messages and phone calls via our One Call Now System.

We will continue to monitor the status of COVID-19 in our region.  Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we heed the signs of the times and continue to make decisions that are in the best interest of our school community and the common good.

Sister Allison Marie (216-905-2157), Sister Erin (216-393-7661) and Mr. Hyland (216-441-4700 x222) will be staffing the building over the next three weeks; please reach out to them via phone or email during this time.

Let us join in prayer for each other and all those impacted during these challenging times.

Peace,

Mr. Hyland, Sister Allison Marie, Mr. Crawford, Mr. Duke and Sister Erin.
